Networking Tips

Ping.exe : The BIG one. This is probably one of the most used tools for TCP/IP. Ping sends ICMP Echo Requests to verify that TCP/IP is configured correctly and that a remote TCP/IP system is available. Ping is very customizable through switches. This should be your first stop during times of networking problems. Using it to test network response time is but one of it's many functions.

Arp.exe : allows you to view and modify the ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) cache on the interface of the local computer to detect invalid entries.

Nslookup.exe : Check records, domain host aliases, domain host services, and operating system information by querying Internet domain name servers. When you start Nslookup, it shows the host name and IP address of the DNS server that is configured for the local system, and then display a command prompt for further queries. If you type a question mark (?), Nslookup shows all available commands. You can exit the program by typing exit. To look up a host's IP address using DNS, type the host name and press Enter. Nslookup defaults to using the DNS server configured for the computer on which it is running, but you can focus it on a different DNS server by typing server (where is the host name of the server you want to use for future lookups). Once another server is specified, anything entered after that point is interpreted as a host name.

Hostname.exe : Displays the hostname of the computer.

Ipconfig.exe : Displays current TCP/IP network configuration values. You can update or release DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) allocated leases, and display register, or flush DNS (Domain Name System) names. Output can be redirected to a file if desired.

Nbtstat.exe : Check the state of current Netbios over TCP/IP connections, update the NETBIOS name cache, and determine the registered names and scope ID. Nbtstat is designed to help troubleshoot NetBIOS name resolution problems. When a network is working ok, NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NetBT) resolves NetBIOS names to IP addresses. It does this through several options for NetBIOS name resolution, including local cache lookup, WINS server query, broadcast, LMHOSTS lookup, Hosts lookup, and DNS server query.

Netstat.exe : Displays protocol statistics and current TCP/IP connections. Very cool utility. Try running it while connected to the net.

Pathping.exe : Trace a path to a remote system and report packet losses at each router along the way. Pathping combines features of Tracert and ping.

Route.exe : Display the IP routing table, and add or delete IP routes.

Tracert: Trace a path to a remote system. This tool gives you the number of hops a packet must make to get there, and the IP address of each hop. It does this for a maximum of 30 hops. This tool is very useful for seeing where a problem with a slow response time may lie.

NetDiag.exe : a diagnostic tool that helps isolate networking and connectivity problems by performing a series of tests to determine the state your network client and whether it is functional. Using the /l switch will output results to netdiag.log as the results can be lengthy. This tool will likely not be installed on your system by default. What you must do is go into your Windows 2000 CD in the support/tools directory. Run the setup file there for full access to the Windows 2000 Support Tools. I had problems with getting this program running due to fatal errors from it, but see how you make out. I'll keeps troubleshooting it to see what I can do.
Non Networking Tools

/? switch displays options on these utilities as well.

Sfc.exe : System File Checker. This utility scans protected system files and replaces files overwritten with the correct system files provided by Microsoft. This could prove to be an invaluable tool for repairing your system after some of those search and replace programs that we all know so well get through with your system files.

Verifier.exe : Driver Verifier. This utility runs a series of checks in the Windows 2000 Kernel to expose errors in kernel-mode drivers. It can gather statistics from the kernel, which are displayed by the GUI or logged in a file. Running verifier with no command line switches starts Driver Verifier Manager, which is in a GUI interface.

Drivers.exe : Lists all drivers currently running on a system from the %SystemRoot%System32drivers folder. You can use this tool to identify a driver that may be causing problems due to corruption or because it is missing, not loaded, or outdated.

Benefits of Reciting Quran

This is about the latest report of a Netherlands Psychologist , Vander
Hoven,

REPORT: Vander Hoven, a psychologist from Netherlands, announced his
new
discovery about the effect of reading the Quran and repeating the
word
ALLAH both on patients and on normal persons. The Dutch professor
confirms
his discovery with studies and research applied on many patients over
a
period of three years. Some of his patients were non-Muslims, others
do not
speak Arabic and were trained to pronounce the word "ALLAH" clearly;
the
result was great, particularly on those who suffer from dejection
and
tension.

Al Watan, a Saudi daily reported that the psychologist was quoted to
say
that Muslims who can read Arabic and who read the Quran regularly can
protect themselves from psychological diseases. The psychologist
explained
how each letter in the word
"ALLAH" affects healing of psychological diseases.

He pointed out in his research that pronouncing the first letter in
the
word
"ALLAH" which is the letter (A), released from the respiratory system,
controls breathing. He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L)
in
the Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of
the
jaw
producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly,
relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter which is the
letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the
heart and in turn this contact controls the heartbeat.

What is exciting in the study is that this psychologist is a
non-Muslim,
but
interested in Islamic sciences and searching for the secrets of the
Holy
Qur'an. Allah, The Great and Glorious, says, "We will show them Our
signs
in the universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to
them
that This (Qur'an) is the truth". (Holy Qur'an 42:53)

Ahadith about Fruits

Milk:

The Prophet(SAW) said that milk wipes away heat from the heart just as
the finger wipes away sweat from the brow. It strengthens the back,
ncreases the brain, augments intelligence,renews vision and drives
way forgetfulness.


Honey:

Considered to be the best remedy for diarrhea when mixed in hot water.
It is the food of foods, drink of drinks and drug of drugs. It is used
for creating appetite,strengthening the stomach, eliminating phlegm,
meat preservative,hair conditioner, eye salve and mouthwash. It is
extremely beneficial in the morning in warm water and is also a
sunnah.



Olive oil:

excellenent treatment for skin and hair, delays old age, treats
inflammation of the stomach


Mushroom:

The Prophet(SAW) said that mushroom is a good cure for the eyes, it
so >serves as a form of birthcontrol and arrests paralysis.




Grapes:

The Prophet was very fond of grapes, it purifies the blood, provides
vigour and health, strengthens the kidneys and clears the bowels.


Dates:

The Prophet(SAW) said that a house without dates has no food.

Figs:
It is a fruit from paradise and a cure for piles.

Pomegranate:

The Prophet(SAW) said it cleanse you of Satan and evil aspirations for
40 days.


Water:

the Prophet(SAW) said the best drink in this world and the next is
Water, when you are thirsty drink it by sips and not gulps, gulping
produces sickness of the liver.

When the sun will rise from West

When the sun will rise from west" The scientists of astronomy state that the speed of planet Mars have been decreasing in its course toward the eastern direction in the few past weeks to the level we notice the "waver" between the east and the west and on Wednesday the 30th of July the plant movement stopped going toward the eastern direction. Then in the months of August and September...Mars changed its course in the opposite direction to the West- and that until the end of September which means the sun will rise now from the west on Mars!! And this weird phenomenon of the opposite movement called "Retrograde Motion". Most scientists state that all the planets will go through the same, once at least and our planet Earth is one of them. Planet Earth will move in the opposite direction some day and the sun will rise from the west!! This might occur soon and we are unaware! Our beloved messenger (SAW) said: "One of the signs of the hour the sun will rise from the west, when no longer tauba (forgiveness) will be granted" And the strange thing most of our Shariah scholars mentioned that the rise of the sun from the west occurs only once on that day the sun will rise from the west then again from the east and continues until Allah wish and this is similar to what is happening to Mars it stops, then it changes its course of direction for a short period of time then returns to way once it was. Abu Hurayra (RAA) narrated that the messenger of Allah (SAW) said:"The day of the hour will not come until the sun rises from the west, if it rises and the people saw it they will all believe, when a time where nothing will be accepted anymore of believe the truth" [Abu Bukhari,Muslim) and from Abu Hurayra (RAA) that the messenger (SAW) said: "Start with the six actions (he mentioned) the sun rising from the west) [Muslim]And Abdullah Bin Amro (RAA) said: (I memorized from the messenger (SAW)a hadith I will never forget I heard the messenger of Allah (SAW) says:The first aya to come the rise of the sun from the west) [Ahmad]And the messenger ASWA "Allah (SWT) place his hand at night to forgive his morning sinners, and places in the morning to forgive his night sinners until the sun rises from the west" [Muslim]This important piece of news is very important and with grate sign of warning of remembrance...for through it the doors of Dawah whether for Muslims, the unwary of us or the kufar. When we show this hadith that was told 1400 years ago about this miracle you will see a lot will enter this beautiful religion...And the Muslims if they see this phenomena happening in Mars who knows maybe this is the beginning of what will happen to our planet soon?
